Japan claimed it had stopped most dolphin slaughter after a documentary film “The Cove” showed fishermen brutally hacking the marine mammals in a bloodied bay in Taijii. But new gory footage shows they just figured out a way to do it without turning the bay red. The stab the dolphin, then stick a stake in the wound to stop the bleeding, then drown the animal.
